Project Description
Hans Serif is a typeface that is designed particularly for editorial/display purposes. Using references from Times New Roman, Editorial New, and PT Serif, Hans Serif is a typeface that is condensed, easily legible, and used for books, posters, magazines, and other print deliverables.
Process
Type Specimen
The poster was designed for one purpose, which is to display the font in different sizes and highlight details. I chose this quote here, by Edgar Allan Poe, to give an idea that my typeface is done for editorial and has interesting shapes and proportions.
Newspaper
The purpose of this print was to create an idea of where the font may live. It was printed on newsprint paper, which is the same paper used for newspapers and the ultimate goal was to use the font in a experimental way. What I mean by this is usage of color, numbers, images, and different sizes.
